I have been working on my own style using fine ceramic powders from Japanese colored glaze used for chinaware. The surface of this powdered material induces deep biological illusions. We all have memories of a primitive life, four billion years of history, in our genetic makeup, but we can barely feel or see the essence of life consciously. The essence of life may be diversity, both accidental and complex. Complexity and illusion are the advantages of art, which can represent those aspects of life. I want to create primitive life or spirits from the powdered surface. I allow the images to grow. In observing what gradually appears, I become aware of the deep primitive nature in all of us.
I am also making moving sculptures which behave in an unpredictable chaotic motion. Such nonlinear motion plays an important role in nature.
I have been giving experimental lectures for children and adults where I show various kinds of phenomena related to chaos, pattern formation and plasma.
